Intumescent Fire Coating

For attics, vaulted ceilings, and other spaces where spray foam insulation is left exposed rather than covered by drywall, we apply spray foam insulation along with an intumescent fire-retardant coating to meet building code requirements.

Intumescent Fire Coating

Building code requires spray foam insulation to be covered by drywall or an approved fire-rated coating whenever it's left exposed — such as in unfinished attics, crawlspaces, or vaulted ceilings. We apply an intumescent coating directly over the cured foam that stays inert under normal conditions but expands and chars when exposed to heat, slowing fire spread and protecting the space underneath. This keeps your spray foam installation fully code-compliant without requiring a drywall finish.
